Really Ends to the discography
- Added Nothing Really Ends to
the songbook
- 4 photos from the official presentation
of the DVD, thanks to Benoît Bouchez & Emmanuel Debiève
- Added Let's Get SUEd to the
discography, plus a bunch of compilations thanks to Quinten
- Added Magnus to the dictionary
- Added a relevant DVD screenshot to the Hotellounge
song page, and info about the title of the song Via.
- Noam Hamou is probably the guy with the largest dEUS collection in the world
by now. He's reviewed the discography with great care, and here are the items
that we've added / corrected: Suds &
Soda (German print, Australian release, 12" vinyl, CD2, 10" test
pressing), Via (12"
promo, jewelcase CD), Worst Case
Scenario (U.S. promo tape), Theme
From Turnpike (stickers version), Little
Arithmetics (2-track, CD-R), Fell
Off The Floor, Man (12" promo), The
Ideal Crash (12" promo)
- The Zea EP and the demo
tapes now also have their own nice pages. And I added information about
some of the demo songs (listening to them right now, thanks Eduardo !!!)
- I (finally) added a link to Let's
Get SUEd, a compilation of dEUS covers recorded by dML members. And Avi's
Ideal Tabs have changed location - they're now at http://noam.attius.com/idealtabs
- Tom interviewé par Thierry
Coljon dans Le Soir (merci à Dirk
Houbrechts)
[16OCT]

/ pics : Apeldoorn 95, Budapest
99
- Added the 15-track version of Worst
Case Scenario
- Removed three pics from the picture gallery (they belong the Budapest
99 gig page)
[09OCT]
- "De
goden in de geest", Tom's profile in Knack Focus, 03.10.2001, with
some nice pictures
- Added Titres Inédits
2, a French promo CD. There's also a new
page for the Hotellounge singles.
- Very positive IABUTS
review at PitchforkMedia
(the tasteless bastards who gave Dead Man Ray's Berchem/Trap 3 out of 10 - but
they gave Labradford's fixed:contest 9.7, so I'll forgive them - I actually
recommend their site, it's a great source for music reviews)
- Updated Millionaire, Musickness, Dead Man Ray, Zita Swoon and Eyckmans info
in the dictionary
- Added a link to Kevin
Moens's Millionaire site and one to Tim's
Vive La Fête site
- I removed the updates mailing list button for two reasons : 1) Microsoft terminated
their free Listbot mailing list service, which I'd been using ; 2) I never sent
any message to that list, anyway. I'll just spam the dML from time to time ;-)
[08OCT]
- Added information about
the forthcoming DVD video collection and the singles compilation. It's on the
"4th album" page, which is now called the
"future releases" page.
- 1 2
3 4
pictures (probably taken from another
dEUS website - but I don't remember which)
- Some information about Disappointed
In The Sun (the Beefheart connection), A
Shocking Lack Thereof (the Toy Story thing), Serpentine
(the Sean Penn obsession), Roses
(aka In Bed With Tommy), Theme
From Turnpike (good ol' Bruce, and Sean Penn, too)
- A bunch of old articles, all in, err, Flemish : 1
(very interesting) 2
3 4
5 (kinky :-)
- And a Portuguese interview
from 99 in Blitz
- Et une interview de
Tom au festival de Dour l'an dernier
- Ye gods! another promo
version of Instant Street, this time from France. And here's a hi-fi
scan of the luxury digipak version of the Hotellounge single with a black
info sticker
- Some bits stolen from Geert's
dEUS site (he doesn't care as long as I admit to being a thief) : setlists
for Leicester 94, Pinkpop
95, Groningen 97, Dusseldorf
99, Brussels 99 #6, review
for Berlin 99, Frankfurt
99. I also added the names of some support acts.
- A French press kit
from 99
- Added a link to soulwax.co.uk
(I promised I'd do it ... 11 months ago. Sorry Clare!)
[01OCT]
- Info about 1999 gigs :
Leeds, Dublin,
Het Lek, WDR
Rocknacht, Glasgow. To
my surprise, I also added one date - an acoustic set at Tower Records (a record
store in London)
- Review of TIC
(Dutch)
- Better scan of the Worst Case
Scenario cover
- The demos section stated
that Waiting for My Man is a Lou Reed song. Half true: it's from the
Velvet Underground & Nico album.
- More info about Song for a Jacket
- Added a link to a Lounge Lizards website in the covers
section
- Added credits to a Swedish
article
- Updated TV/radio appearances
- Added Craig Ward's welcome message
to www.deus.be
- Found on eBay 2 minutes ago : a cool Morphine / dEUS poster
[26JUL]
- The audio/video
section is up and running again. Your ears will love me.
- Two photos [1-2]
from Tom's show at Motel Mozaique
in March
- A black and white photo of Klaas and
his violin
- Four photos [1-2-3-4]
from the 1999 concert at Theatre
Club, Tel-Aviv (that page was redesigned)
- Added 1996's "Cannabilise
Legalism" to the compilations page
- Added the dropshot article to the press
section
- Info about VPRO Lowlands 94
- See the new light blue colour of the links? Easier to read, your eyes will
love me.
[19JUL]
- Setlist and two pictures
from Tom at Montreux Jazz Festival,
16.07.2001
- Added the Visions
#100 to the compilations page
[16JUL]
- Reviews of Tom's performance
at Saint-Amour in Mechelen
(16 Feb.) and Leuven (14 Feb.)
- On fouille les tiroirs : une interview
de Tom dans le GO Student d'avril 99 (avec une photo)
- Another old interview : Alexey's interview
with Tom on his Soup webzine - in Russian.
- Updated Garbage info on the "famous
fans" page.
- Updated the TV appearances page (an old
thing that will change location one day, 'cause hiding it in the tourdates section
makes no sense at all) with Danny's posturing last year on Goedele. And,
more interesting, a summary of Deutschlandfunk's program about Belgian rock
music in February (with bits from interviews with Tom, Stef, ...)
- Added a small summary of the Dutch lyrics of Kinderballade.
And cleared up the mess around Pa (no copyright issues were involved). But I
still haven't added the lyrics to those songs.
- Updated the dictionary entry about
The Frames.
[24JUN]
- Just added a guestbook.
Gives a warm community feeling ;-)
[23JUN]
- Craig Amoscott sent me
the lyrics to Whose Vegas, It.
Furniture and corrections for Texan Coffee
and Little Ghost.
[18JUN]
- Craig Amoscott sent me
the lyrics to Sick Sugar and Healthinsurance
[10JUN]
- About the dEUS mailing
list : it has moved again. Arthur set up a real mailing list using the Majordomo
software. Click
here to subscribe and see more info. Please don't use the mailing list I
created at Yahoo! Groups. I'm going to delete it anyway.
- Added Tom solo tour dates and also the US
tour dates in 1997. Plus a Brazilian gig in
96. I also added the Pukkelpop 96 setlist, and
a bunch of 1996 & 1997 tourdates (thanks to Quinten)
- Added (stolen) lyrics for The
Magic of New Popmusic and corrected a mistake about Kinderballade.
- Scanned the Roses / Memory
& the Spanish Instant
Street promo singles. And the Little
Arithmetics re-issue single's cover. I also corrected a little mistake about
the French version of the TIC
single.
- Added the cover of the Humo Rock Rally
92 CD
- Look at the frame on the left : I removed the "Jyves" link (I'm
working on a new "hello that's me" site), removed a very stupid link
to an old thing that didn't work anyway, and replaced the "<<<index"
links by more normal "home" links.
[04JUN]
- The official dEUS mailing
list is apparently dead. Here's the new
dEUS mailing list !
- The Sister Dew single
now also has the "new" discography design. As do Theme
From Turnpike, Little Arithmetics ,
Roses and Fell
Off The Floor, Man. Suds & Soda,
too.
- There used to be a "rumours" section strangely located at the bottom
of the old TIC discography page. I've ground it down to tiny pieces which I
relocated here, here
& here (about dEUS being
paid a lot, about fake dEUS records & about ugly artwork).
[03JUN]
- Added the Roses/Memory
Of A Festival promo single & the Spanish promo version of
Instant Street
- Noam noticed that I'd deleted all info about a French bonus CD that came with
The Ideal Crash. Uh, I still
wonder why/how I deleted that bit. It's back.
[27MAY]
- Fixed two bad links on
the a/v page.
[25MAY]
- I finally completed the
translation of the RTBF's February interview
with Tom. It's still damn interesting.
- Have a look at the Little Arithmetics
promo puzzle. It's puzzling.
- Added two reviews + 1 photo of Tom
@ De Nachten (and experienced with a new messy design)
- The Humo CD-rom had a wrong disc number (in fact, it doesn't have any). That's
now fixed (here).
- A few hours ago I installed MSIE 5.5 and discovered that the home page wasn't
displayed correctly - it looked better with MSIE 4, which I'd been using so
far. Instead of asking you to delete MSIE 5 and reinstall MSIE 4, I corrected
the table error. Ain't I sweet.
- Also, Arthur sent me
a nice little message pinpointing several little problems. I fixed those, too
(mostly wrong links). And updated the thumbnails to his sites.
- And Free Claerbout wants me to speak Dutch perfectly. I'm not allowed to use
expressions such as "Tom
aan de Nachten" any more. He also sent me this piece : "What i
actually wanted to let you know was this, in addition to an earlier newspost
on www.isufferrock.com. I don't know if this has been on the mailing list, but
my girlfriend heard on Studio Brussel that somewhere in January Ibelieve Tom
Barman performed a song of Serge Gainsbourg on a wedding. I believe it was on
the wedding of Tom Leenaerts' brother. (Tom Leenaerts is a Flemish celebrity
and a dEUS fan). As you see, quite vague... don't know the date, name of the
song... I wasn't planning to send this to you, but what the hell.. :)"
[24MAY]
- You probably noticed that
my Swisstools message board was extremely slow. That's why I decided
to join Arthur's
great forums at ISufferRock.com.
- Updated the 4th album page
- Added 2 Stockholm gigs (1995 & 1996)
- I'm still cleaning
up the mess I did when I accidentally replaced an April version of the site
with an earlier version. So, Isabel's translation of a 1999
interview in a Portuguese weekly is up again. And I've deleted several files,
so you'll probably get a few Error 404 messages if you use the search engine.
- I also added links to a an interview
in Tom from 8 years ago. Damn interesting ! It's at Rudy's
Great Ideas. Plus I found an April 99 interview with Tom at This
Swirling Sphere. And a 1996 review of Theme From Turnpike, at Ultra.
And IABUTS & TIC reviewed at 33
Rebellions Per Minute. And a June 2000 review of Worst Case Scenario on
an Italian site called Kalporz.
The same site also reviewed TIC.
Then, there is a nice
article in French newspaper L'Humanité (June 99) about Belgium being
the new Eldorado of pop music, and dEUS gets the largest share.
- A while ago (28.08.00) I posted an Instant
Street Nokia ring tone made by Menno Echnie. I've just moved it to the "stuff"
page.
- If you like Venus, you'd better check out the Out
of Breath website, by Emmanuel Bizieau. It's good work. And while you're
away, also check Le Cargo,
a great French musiczine with a beautiful dEUS section. These are on the links
section. And UBL.com was degraded to a mere text link. It's still a decent site,
but much too corporate these days.
- The Error 404 page is finally
working. Please, please report every time you see it. The more you criticize,
the better this site will be ;) (but if you click on the error
404 link and report that you've seen it, then you're bloody stupid and
there's nothing I can do for your poor soul)
- Aaaaargh ! I've just noticed that all links with # in them
now point to the homepage !!! Why ? Oh my god, what have I done ? Argh !
[17MAY]
- For a reason I still can't
explain, the 1999 set at Stockholm's Water Festival wasn't listed in the tour
archive. Now it's there, with the setlist & parts of an interview from Radio
P3 - here.
[21APR]
- Two reviews of Ancienne
Belgique, 21-01-99
- Updated several links
- Musickness & Zita Swoon entries updated in the dictionary
- Official synopsis for Tom's
movie "Vrijdag, Vrijdagavond"
- The search
engine was still referring to jyves.citeweb.net/deus - an error I fixed
yesterday
- Updated info about the Instant
Street video + removed an antiquated page about it
- Info about the dEUS/Humo CD-rom has been moved to the TIC
page - after all, it's just a promo item ...
[25FEB]
- I'm so happy: yesterday
I finally got the Phatpak edition of My Sister=My Clock !
- Une interview
de Tom vachement intéressante sur le site de la RTBF (avec une photo)
- Setlist & review of Saint
Amour in Brussels
- Tom unveiled: 4 photos in OOR + 1 from the RTBF interview 1
2 3
4 5
- After another hardly heated debate on the dML, here it is: the
dEUS/Deus/DEUS/deus question ;)
[14JAN]
- MP3
FRENZY !!!
- Review of Tom at De Nachten
- Lyrics to Luxury (from Arthur's site)
- Interview de Tom dans le Best de juillet

- Critique de Worst Case Scenario
dans le Zine Humide d'octobre 94
- Rescanned the WCS and MS=MC
covers
- Added a link to the next album page on the discography
menu
[08JAN]
- Added the 9 Saint Amour
dates to the 2001 tour page, and
fixed the Y2K bug (I wrote 2000 instead of 2001)
- New MP3 page !!!
- Last week, Tom gave HUMO his
view of the year 2000 (in Dutch)
- I updated the next album
page
- An article in Dutch
about Tom's readings, another about Dranouter
and something about De
Nachten (thanks to Bart Van Belle)
- Setlist at Gentse Feesten
- 1, 2,
3 : Tom & Michael Stipe from
R.E.M. sharing drinks in Russia (from Alexey's Soup
magazine)
- And here's an old interview
with Tom from a Portuguese mag, translated by Carolina
- The parapharnelia page has a little
more about Muse's liking for dEUS
- Another old article : a
concert review from NME
- I also updated the credits section
[03JAN]
- Little info about the next
album can be found here
- A new tour page for a new year : we're in 2001
- And the old songbook is gradually
being replaced by something I like more
What's new ? 2000 archive
[12NOV]
- You noticed
the new message
board, didn't you ?
- Luxury added to the
songbook, with the very little info I have about it
[22OCT]
- I've just
redesigned the Audio/Video page. The new design sucks, but there are more things
:)
[01OCT]
- Now you
can send cool dEUS postcards
(yerk) ! There is still a problem I haven't managed to fix, though : if you
receive a dEUS postcard from someone, you won't be able to see it via wwwcs3.
The direct link you'll see in the notification e-mail works fine, though.
- I wrote a whole message, and then erased it by mistake. Shit. So I'll make
it short : I removed all rollover image animations on the wwwcs homepage because
they made the homepage extremely slow and boring to download. Sorry for those
who liked them a lot.
- I'm redesigning the discography. First upload : the index - see
here
- The poll results are now on
the "other info" page
[25SEP]
- New section
: the things that really don't fit anywhere
else
- And I removed the page with poll results. They'll come back, though
- The official Zita Swoon site is not official yet, but it's already entirely
accessable - here
- Two tour dates added, well, to the tour
section
- Arthur's site, formerly known as Endless, Nameless: dEUS, is know called and
located at dEUStheband.com
- I also got an angry (well, not really angry, but he'd have reasons to be)
mail from Geert informing me that I'd mixed two links together : the link to
his Antwerp
Music Pages led to Dirk's Belpop
Archive. Well, now you get the two sites properly separated on my links
section !
- Still active in the links section, I added a link to Beryl Tomay's Follow
Me Around, the best Radiohead fansite, and to me the best fansite on the
whole, as well as a link to Niels
Van Ieperen's band photos website where you'll find some fifteen dEUS photos
- And a tiny navigation update on top of the links section - today is links
day
- I added a picture of Tom
& one of the Dewaele Brothers in action
[28AUG]
- There's
a new unofficial dEUS site called dEUS Online, click
here
- Dranouter festival footage added to the TV
& radio specials

[25AUG]
- New page
with poll results.

section
[04AUG]
Finally an
update after two months of total silence ... Were you losing faith ?
- New article with 12 photos
- New link : The
Ideal Tabs by Avi
- Shortened the home page, only
the latest item of news will be displayed, and those rollovers are going to
disappear because they take a lot of time to load
- http://come.to/sonofpop isn't available anymore
[12JUN]
- Sheesh,
Sweden lost the Paris tennis open, too :) Fantastic match, though.
- This site has moved ! It's still http://hotellounge.com, but the physical
location has moved one directory up, to http://jyves.citeweb.net (no more /deus).
No big deal, but you'll probably get lots of "file not found" errors.
- New link : Rudy's great
ideas, the greatest Rudy Trouvé site !
- The songbook is going through a complete redesigning : instead of long, messy
pages sorted by albums, you'll get one page for one song, à la ateaseweb.com.
Easy navigation is the key. Sneak
preview here, any comment is heartly welcome (most links still lead to the
old-style thing) !
- There's a tiny little more information on Tom's
upcoming solo performance in August
[10JUN]
- Belgium
2 - Sweden 1 :-)
- I added setlists for Paris
1995, Angoulême 1996,
Toulouse 1997 and Paris
1999
- Technical stuff : you won't get a boring French server page when you click
on a dead link. I made my own error 404
page (if you click on this link, you WILL get an error 404)
[27MAY]
- There will
be ONE concert in 2000 : Tom Barman
solo at Dranouter Folk Festival.

but it's a new thing for me and right now I'm trying to understand how it works
(it's a thing from cgifreebies.com)

like covering songs by other artists. Even if they don't play whole songs very

[27APR]
I'm introducing a brand new discography
system which I believe will make downloading faster and navigation smoother.
On the other hand, this caused linking problems inside the site and I think
the links from the songbook to the discography don't work anymore.
I'll fix those links in the coming weeks or after my exams. I'd like to add
that this is probably the last update of WWWCS before mid June. But keep coming
here, I doubt you've seen everything yet.
Hint : clicking on the WWWCS3 icon on top of each "box" brings
you back to the index/discography page (what I call a box is each table unit
containing information about one single or album : the Instant Street box, the
Hotellounge box, ...)
I hope you'll like it - I like it a lot :)
Sorry
for the connection problems last week-end : the web server at citeweb.net
was down from Friday to Saturday. This is the reason why I started a mirror
site at http://www.multimania.com/wcs/
but there are adverts and I dislike it ...
IF SOMEBODY WITH ACCESS TO A RELIABLE ADVERT-FREE WEB SERVER IS WILLING TO OFFER
ME CA. 15 MB ON HIS SERVER FOR HOSTING THIS SITE, I'D BE GRATEFUL FOREVER !!!
[13APR]
ARTICLES
: I added a huge interview from HUMO (March) with all the photos, and the cover
of last month's "Satisfaxion"
DISCOGRAPHY : I scanned the
covers of some promo CDs and I added information about the English version of
Instant Street
SONGBOOK : I split "covrar.htm"
(covers, rarities, unreleased songs) into two files : one dedicated to covers
and the other to rarities and unreleased songs. I also added collaborations
outside dEUS (songs by other artists in which dEUS members were involved).
[07APR]
-
I added information about the NEW dEUS
mailing list
- There's one more photo of Tom
