REVIEW

Aloha,
well,
as i said earlier today last night was a great night. Tom and Klaas
were there, Klaas didn't played but stood in the back listening
and watching Tom's performance. The good mood was on and Tom was
very funny, telling jokes, joking about the band and some funny
situation that had happened to them the night before in Lisboa.
I will not tell the stories because it would take a long time to
explain and i can't do it right now but if you are able to get a
recordingof the show you will listen to al the stories. Sorry. 2
members of the crowd were allowed to place 2 questions and Tom mentioned
that the spliting rumour was never to exist. That the break turned
into a mega mega break and now people are involved in other projects
and that they are going to finish all of them and then get back
to dEUS and do another record in 2003. I think this was already
mentioned here but nevertheless Tom said it. Also talked a bit about
the DVD. Blamed Klaas for the wrong notes played on his guitar and
the long tuning moments he took due to new strings :-)))) told stories
about turtles :-))) and gay bars and a black guy who said was famous
in Italy and about the issue of being famous in Portugal :-))))
and took requests and was going to play Right As Rain but decided
not to because it was a sad song and after the turtles stories.
Oh ! there was a comment on a new return to Portugal but that is
yet to confirm and that would be with Tom & CJ Bolland !! that would
be great.
In
the end it turned out to be a great evening and he played seven
songs, Everybody's Weird, Magdalena, Instant Street, Luxury, Nothing
Really Ends, One Advice, Space, Serpentine
In
the end i was able to talk to them and that was when i handed them
the cover
cd. I had 5 copies ready for them. Klaas was very surprised
and thanked everybody because that was a compliment that people
would pull such an act on the band. He asked a few question about
the project i explained everything. I also asked about if there
was any problem on doing the record and playing their songs and
he said no not at all it was nice that people could and wanted to
play their songs. Then Tom came and he already knew about the project,
Pedro had asked him the permission, remember and had also sent him
an e-mail but he was interested in knowing more about the project
so i explained everything again :-) and he was amused by the name
of the record and told me he was curious on listening to the cd.
Let's hope for a comment on the project :-)) Oh! they both know
about the existence of the dML. Unfortunately they were in a hurry
they were hungry and the guy from the record company were telling
them they had to go. Anyway they were very nice and were please
to receive such an offer. This is great, no?!! :-)) Finally all
these year of waiting and working paid something :-)) Now, should
we produce a Zita Swoon cover CD???? :-))))
Oh!
I have a radio recording of the show.
Cheers

REVIEW
BY PEDRO MOREIRA
Last
night show was very special. I know that for people from Belgium
or Holland, is not that strange to have this, almost, "private"
shows of Tom, but for us, portuguese, is not that usual! So, when
I knew I had won the ticket, took the car and made the 350 Km to
Lisbon to be in the show! Right now I'm a working zombie!:) (sorry
for this introduction, but I have to do something or else I fall
asleep right in my desk) So...as I was telling you, last night was
fantastic. It was a Tom's solo, as expected, but Klaas Janzoons
was there too. In the audience, just watching, but was there!:)
Tom
was expected to play 4 songs but he played 7. Sorry for not knowing
the exact order, but I can't remember it: He played Everybody's
Weird, Instant Street, Magdalena, Sister dew, Luxury, Nothing Really
Ends. The last one was, perhaps, the song that the public (or at
least part of it) asked more often, Serpentine. He looked in a very
good mood, and told us that the night before he and Klaas were denied
entrance in a bar! Tom told the doorman that they were big stars
here in Portugal, but he answered that he was also a big star, but
in Italy!:) Then he told a stupid story about turtles, imagining
the amount of information that a turtle must have, 'cause it lives
for over 400 years and move very slow! Nobody in his perfect mind
thinks in this kind of things!!:)
Before
the show, Tom answered two questions from the audience. The first
one was about his movie. He told that he was very frightened, because
there is a lot of money involved, but that everything is going well.
About the Single collections, No More Loud Music, he didn't looked
very excited, so he preferred to talk about the DVD. When asked
about the next album, the answer is already known: 2003. They don't
even want to think about breaking up. And that, if we think that
the return after so much time, and when every one of them has his
own projects, is strange, it's because dEUS always act different
from the usual!
Ah...and
Tom promised to be here in Portugal, for a concert, in March!
Well...my
very tired mind can't remember much more. I hope that my english
is understandable.
See
you,
Hugs,
Pedro
