REVIEW BY NOAM
It
was another really cool show.. Tom started by saying "to all
the people that were at the gig in tel-aviv, i have bad news
for you... this show's gonna be exactly the same.. same songs,
same conversation in the middle, same everything"
the
club was pretty small... much smaller than the theatre club
in tel-aviv, and the crowd didn't seem at all like people
who knew dEUS. while waiting for the gates to open, Craig
went through the anticipating people, and noone even knew
who he was.. i came up to him and asked him a few questions
and you'll be interested to know that when my brother asked
about Rudy's artwork for the cd's, Craig said the new cover
sucks, in these exact words.
the
magic hour was played MUCH better than the show in tel-aviv..
it was a great version! hotellounge was pretty much the same,
this time with a different and shorter added verse sung by
Craig. Instant street was also great, and towards the end
they started speeding it up more and more which sounded great.
the show ended with WCS in which the band introduction was
done, and for some reason tom was not introduced this time.
what should be noted is that the crowd pissed dEUS off pretty
much, requesting for old songs sometimes. at a certain point,
tom said "please stop requesting songs, do we look like a
jukebox?!" and someone from the crowd shouted "YEAAAAH!",
so dEUS played for 2-3 minutes a medley of about 6-7 songs
maybe more including something by led zeppelin i think, jimi
hendrix, 4 non blondes (they probably listened to the radio
before the show because it was played), smells like teen spirit
by nirvana, and a famous song by the pixies they played for
about 2 minutes.. i can't remember it's name. and one time
in the show they were pissed again about the requests, so
tom said "you want other songs? you sing!" and gave the microphone
to someone in the crowd who sang a line from "via", then a
line from "my wife jan" and tom took the mic back and continued
the show. they didn't really care that much, but still it
was obvious they didn't like it that much either. also, someone
yelled "skip the boring introduction!!" before magdalena,
tom laughed, said simply that it's a love song and started
playing.
but
to sum it up, dEUS were cool about all this stuff and didn't
care much, and continued with the show... and it was fantastic!
