REVIEW
BY STE CURRAN
hello
all list people again.
just
seen deus in manchester. in summary, witness were shit, deus were
brilliant.
brief points:
tom
looked wired - grinning one minute, screaming at people the next.
craig looked miserable.
klaas looked gorgeous. love the hair.
jules looked very meek when tom shouted at him.
danny looked like his mind was elsewhere.
tim evil superstar looked about 12.
erm.
the set was a bit weird - why play sam peckinpah when almost everyone
there won't have heard the 8 songs from the new album that they
played in the main set. little arithmetics was bad - tom was angry
during it - and they fucked up fell of the floor man and had to
restart. but god, when they got it right it was *amazing*. sam peckinpah
was brilliant, all the new songs were beautiful and perfect, and
klaas... oooh. he was nice. so polite. so talented. and it was totally
obvious that he was in love with the stuff he was playing - him
and tom were really into it.
looks
like they'll do requests as well, sort of - some guy behind me shouted
'SERPENTINE!' just after suds and soda, tom looked at me (he thought
i'd shouted it) and said 'ok'. then they played it and it was *beautiful*.
anyway,
that set list in full:
