Concert
info
The following info, review & pictures
are from Pedro
Pereira's good dEUS site
The night was very windy and a bit
cold, but it was not an obstacle to the people who went to the "Passeio
Maritimo de Algés" for the Lisbon's academic week" to see dEUS.
The festival began with some "Tunas Académicas" playing to entertain
the people before the main concerts. The first band who played was
Pinhead Society - a Portuguese band with kind of Sonic Youth influences.
Then it was time for Silence 4 - another Portuguese band that plays
some nice acoustic songs. And at 0:50 am, dEUS finally entered the
stage. They started with the great "A Shocking Lack Thereof" - a song
that seems to grow up on you each time you listen to it. The crowd
started jumping and pushing and pulling already at the first song,
but it got much worst by the time of Little Arithmetics up to Fell
Off The Floor, Man. It seamed that the band wanted the crowd to be
exhausted already in the middle of the concert, but they didn't have
any success. When there was a new song, the people just stop dancing
letting the music enter into their ears.
Tom shook his butt like he usually does, but maybe the weather didn't
help much to the concert atmosphere. Klaas was not in his best mood,
he played well and broke a lot of percussion sticks, but he was not
very inspired. Once his violin fell from his hands and he took about
3 songs to tune it again - he said. Craig was a bit nervous (maybe
because he'll get married next week) and Jules was kinda tense. Danny
was a bit exhibitionist wearing his sunglasses and dancing near to
the crowd. Still (always) missing Stef...
