REVIEW BY ROGER LORD

Too bad I had to leave during the dEUS gig (I left during Gimme The Heat). Reading the other mails I think the people who went to Torhout are going to be really jealous when they hear this. Seeing 12 people dancing on stage could be quite cool, but guess what we got. Before the beginning of the gig I was pretty bored so I started shouting for Stef (I have to apologize for this misbehaviour) and a couple of songs later when I wasn't looking at the stage I suddenly thought: My, Craig's voice is rather high today; so I looked up and there he was: STEF! He was singing and dancing in his usual style. Great vocals! He sang on Fell of the floor man, and I believe he sang along with Roses too (heard that from far away, cause I really had to see the Pumpkins, who kicked ass; too bad they didn't play any Siamese Dream songs).

REVIEW BY STEPHAN VAN DEN BURG

Anyway, because this is the dEUS-mailing-list: I also saw dEUS at Werchter and they were great. It a pity that the sound-quality was fucked-up, especially at the beginning of the show, 'cause it was a dEUS-gig the way I like it (and the way it almost always is): Lots of improvisation, great songs etc. ect. And of course, as mentioned in previous messages, Stef came on stage! First, I thought they used a sample during 'Fell of the floor man', but then I saw Stef dancing behind the drums. Great to seem he back with dEUS. In the last part of the show, i think it was during 'Theme from Turnpike', a group of actors, artists, and a fire-... (vuurspuger-NL), came on stage for some dancin' and weird stuff. I think one of them was the spastic fellow in the 'Theme from Turpike'-video. dEUS did one of the best shows on Werchter.

REVIEW BY STEF VALVASSORI

Believe me, I was first raw, and everything was perfect and properly played. The band is growing (musically)like hell (it is my 8th time that i see them and it IS always better and better...they start to know eachother really well and play better...). They made shut the fuck up to most of the werchter audience by playing Serpentine... (incredible: people just wanted to listen to that). Stef's appereance as said was just a guest appereance. When I saw the rodie setting the stage and put a 4th microphone with a stand on the side of the stage i realised that he was gonna come up. Craig's brother was just in front of me (jesus they look the same, apart from the hair...), Tom Pintens was there, and load of friends of them (i belive they had a great party afterwards).

Stef Kamil joined dEUS halfway during Fell Off The Floor and he was fantastic during Gimme The Heat and they played probably the best version of that song ever! And Sam Loewijk and his dancers (Les Ballets C de B) made their crazy thing during Turnpike.
